Greenway Tandem Ride - Day 7-8

Updated: May 26, 2022

Day 7

Good evening all. Not much biking today. We caught the 10:30 ferry from Provincetown to Boston. A little rain in the am but the hour and a half crossing was pretty smooth.

I thought riding in the Boston traffic was pretty easy with all the bike lanes, and with some lanes protected from other traffic. Much of our trip to the hotel was on bike paths along the river. Janet was not much of a fan for big city traffic riding however.

We dropped our panniers at the hotel and rode an additional 3 miles to a bike shop that had agreed to store our tandem while we are in Boston for 3 nights. Tomorrow our plan is to do the Boston Freedom trail walk and then the evening Red Sox's game.

Day 8

Just came back from watching the Red Sox beat the Orioles at Fenway Park. I have always wanted to see the old park and sure enough it reminded me so much of Briggs Stadium were I watched the Detroit Tigers as a kid.

Most of our day was spent on the Boston Freedom trail, a 2.5 mile walking tour of all the Boston Historic sites from Paul Revere's house, to old North Church (one if by land, two if by sea), to the USS Constitution.

We were able to catch a water shuttle back to Long Wharf and saved a lot of walking back.

Tomorrow is the JFK library and the harbor walk with the Boston tea party site.
